Founded in 1946 by Sir Thomas Beecham, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026. The Gaumont State Theatre
Opened in 1937, the Gaumont State Theatre on Kilburn High Road is one of London's great Art Deco landmarks. Originally known as the Gaumont State Cinema, the building has a remarkable place in Kilburn's entertainment and musical history.
Its spectacular architecture and rich heritage make it an exceptional setting for live performance. On 11 December 2026, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the Gaumont State Theatre for a Christmas concert celebrating music, community and this extraordinary North London venue.
